Started in 2015, Manikstu Agro is Empowering India’s goat farmers with innovative practices & modern solutions for sustainable and profitable farming.
This Flagship Program is dedicated to improving livelihoods for marginal farmers through an innovative goat bank model. We provide participating farmers with two female goats for a period of 24 months. During this time, farmers can expand their herd from 2 to 14 goats. The goat bank recovers 6 kids, while the remaining goats are kept by the farmers. This initiative allows farmers to earn between 70,000 and 100,000 INR over two years. Additionally, we enhance our support by offering value-added services, including goat insurance, vaccination, and medical care, ensuring the health and productivity of the livestock.
This Women-Centric Program aims to empower rural women by fostering micro-entrepreneurs in goat farming. We will support selected participants in starting their own goat farming businesses, with herd sizes ranging from 10 to 30 goats. Through comprehensive training, we will equip them with essential skills in goat farming, including basic medication, treatments, and vaccination techniques. Additionally, we will assist them in establishing market linkages for their goats and by-products. As a result, beneficiaries can expect to earn an average of 2 lakhs rupees annually. This program is designed to be both sustainable and impactful, creating lasting benefits for the community.
This program aims to promote goat farming as a profitable and sustainable business model. It is specifically designed for farmers interested in starting with a minimum of 100 goats. We will provide hands-on support to entrepreneurs in establishing their goat farming ventures. This includes assistance in preparing project reports, securing bank loans, and applying for government subsidies. Additionally, we will support the construction of animal housing and the procurement of livestock. Comprehensive training will be provided to workers, equipping them with essential skills in goat farming, including basic medical care, treatment, and vaccination techniques. We will also supply vital products such as medicine, feed, and other necessary resources for goat care. Furthermore, we will facilitate market linkages for goats and their by-products through a buy-back guarantee, ensuring farmers have a reliable outlet for their products. This initiative aims to cultivate successful goat farmers who can serve as role models in their communities.
This program aims to replicate our proven successful model, offering new opportunities for entrepreneurs from Project Samridhi. Participants will create jobs for local youth by training them as paravets. They will also implement the goat bank model, collaborating with local farmers to establish a co-ownership system for goat farming, while holding exclusive dealerships for Manikstu products. The trained paravets will not only provide essential healthcare services for goats but also generate revenue through the sale of products. This initiative enhances farmers' livelihoods and provides entrepreneurs with a platform to significantly expand their herd sizes through partnerships with local farmers. Ultimately, the program creates a meaningful impact within the farming community while enhancing the reputation and business prospects of the entrepreneurs involved. This model has consistently demonstrated its success.
